Learn to cook like a chef with David & Sam — two colonial cousins passionate about great food, simple techniques, and sharing what they know.

It all started with Sam making butter from scratch… and David saying, “Why don’t we teach this?”
So here we are — ready to share a few skills that might just make your neighbours jealous

👨‍🍳 The Experience

  • Small group classes (4–6 people)

  • Duration: 3 hours (11:00am – 2:00pm)

  • Days: Sundays & Mondays

  • Format: Hands-on, interactive, relaxed

  • Finish: Enjoy a light lunch made by you, in our commercial kitchen

🥂 Course 1 – 2026 Series

Foundations of flavour & technique

In this class, you will:

  • Make butter from scratch

  • Create 4 compound butters to elevate your cooking at home

  • Learn to make gnocchi from scratch, paired with your butter

  • Develop knife skills — simple, practical, and essential

  • Learn how to pan-fry fish like a chef

  • Prepare a fresh fish dish using your handmade butter

👉 Your creations will form part of the lunch we enjoy together.

Chef David — a London-born career chef with over six decades of experience, all carried behind a big, welcoming smile. Passionate about great food, and even more passionate about sharing his knowledge.

He believes Mother Nature is the greatest provider, and that truly good food comes from care, respect, and attention. Treat your ingredients well, and they will always give you their best.

Sam — Calcutta-born passionate cook, whose midlife pivot from corporate life to hospitality was driven by a simple realisation: less money, but far more happiness.

Deeply fascinated by both cooking and food history, Sam is entirely self-taught and believes that cooking is both a science and an art — brought together by the power of taste and best enjoyed through all five senses.

His inspiration comes from his mother, along with culinary greats like Marco Pierre White, Antonio Carluccio, Albert Roux, Fernand Point …
